Nikki & David: Barley Mow, Warwickshire Wedding Photography

Documentary Wedding Photography style

We met with Nikki and David prior to the wedding to talk through their special day and discuss what they could expect from our style of documentary wedding photography.  This meant that on the day we were all immediately at ease with each other as well as prepared to get straight into capturing the bridal preparation and detail pictures which all took place at Nikki’s moms house.

During preparations everyone was in high spirits and there were lots of laughs and smiles of encouragement, mixed with a small dose of tense clock watching as an eye was kept on the fast approaching deadline for departing to the ceremony location.

Relaxed Wedding Service

The wedding ceremony took place within the historic ceremony room of the Rugby Registration office, where the registrar was keenly awaiting the arrival of the wedding party. During the ceremony there were a number of personalised readings by loved ones which positively boosted emotions in the room. In no time at all the ceremony was over and the newlywed couple were able to relax and share this special time with their friends and family before making their way to the reception venue.

Natural and candid reception photography

The reception took place at the Barley Mow in Newbold on Avon, a popular Warwickshire wedding venue. The venue was typical of a lot of reception venues – romantic, but dimly lit which presented us with the unique challenge of maximising the low light on offer – where possible we always prefer to shoot without using flash as this is less obtrusive and better fits our style of documentary wedding photography.

It was a real privilege to capture their special day.  Enjoy the wedding photos below
